Welcome to Dublin – welcome to the fun Capital of Europe the largest city and capital of Ireland. It is officially known in Irish as ‘Baile Atha Cliath ‘. The English name comes from the Irish meaning ‘ black pool ‘.It is located near the midpoint of Irelands east coast at the mouth of the River Liffey. Originally founded as a Viking settlement it evolved into the Kingdom of Dublin and became the islands primary city following the Norman invasion. Today it is one of the most thriving cities in the whole of Europe and it’s people amongst the freindlest as voted in 2007 and 2009.

Steeped in history a visit to Dublin Castle – The Post Office on O’Connell – Trinity College – Temple Bar – Grafton Street – St Stephens Green is a certainty for the visitor. Dublin is a city to see ‘ under foot ‘ as being quite small ( sometimes referred to as the world’s biggest village ) it is gridlocked.
